Welcome Baby Stella!

Wow, what a fun photoshoot this turned out to be! Ellen & Patrick invited me into their home to photograph their three month old daughter, Stella. Baby Stella absolutely LOVED the camera!! We had fun photographing her in different rooms, outfits and having mom and dad take turns holding her. What I focus on with newborn photoshoots is to help document the beautiful environment and also the interaction between mom and dad with their new addition. And the secret: to use as much natural lighting as possible. I hope you guys enjoy the slideshow & photos as much as I did taking them. Congratulations Ellen & Patrick on making such a precious baby girl and congratulations to Stella for having such beautiful, loving parents!!

Welcome Baby Leo!

I had the privilege of being invited into the home of Lynne and Brian to photograph their new addition, baby Leo.  He is such a cute little baby and it was amazing that he was only six days old!!  We had a fun photoshoot and amazingly enough, we did not have a single accident.  I think this would have to be a first for me.  Even though they claim to be rookies, I have a feeling Lynn and Brian are going to be pretty amazing parents.  Congratulations guys and just remember, sleep is overrated.  :)

San Francisco Fairmont | Wedding Walk-Through

San Francisco is home to some of the most amazing architecture in the bay area.  Not only are the buildings beautiful on the outside, but are just as magnificent inside.  The Fairmont in the city is no exception.  It's manicured to perfection and no detail is overlooked.  I had a chance to meet with Randa, her mom and one of her bridesmaids for a walk-through of the wedding site and the rooms they will be in.  The wedding isn't until June, but Randa and Matt both live in British Columbia so this was one of the only chances we would have before their actual wedding.  It's going to be one seriously fun and elegant event!

Preferred Automotive

I spend most of my time working with couples and with wedding photography.  The rest of the time, I spend photographing sports for Stanford University, collaborating with local models, helping local schools with their annual school portraits and working with local companies looking to get a more updated look for their websites.  In this case, Superpages.com asked me to photograph a local business down in Gilroy.  The weather changed a little the past week so we had to bump up the shoot date but it definitely worked in our favor.  I present to you, Preferred Automotive in Gilroy, CA.

One of my favorite videographers

I recently had a chance to catch up with a videographer I've worked with in the past.  Her name is Larisa Marr of HD Video Memories.  I love her style because it's very unobtrusive.  If you asked her exactly what her style is, she would tell you that it's very traditional and romantic and natural.  What she probably won't tell you is that she was recently awarded the 2009 Bride's Choice Award on Martha Stewart's Wedding Wire site.  You can check out her work online by clicking here: Larisa Marr | HD Video Memoris (Vimeo) or just by going to her beautiful website, at HD Video Memories.  She's the sweetest person in the world, fun to work with and very passionate about her work.  Oh yeah, she is a mother of two so she really has two full time jobs!  :)

Brooke & Scott's Engagement Session | Downtown Mt. View, CA

I met up with these two crazy cats at a 7-11 for their engagement photoshoot. Why you must be asking? Well, that's where they met of course. I asked them to think of a place that was special to them and this was their answer. We did end up in downtown Mt. View on Castro Street and had fun shooting on the main strip. Check out some of the photos from their engagement session.

Magazine Style Albums

I think that magazine albums are the coolest way to show off your wedding photos.  These are included in all our wedding packages.  I love these because they are not traditional and far from boring.  You can fit a couple photos on each page or a dozen of them.  When designing them, I do my best to stick with a very simple and clean look.  My favorite part of the albums are the parts where the photos spread across two pages.  Here's a little video of what a sample magazine style album would look like.  I put this layout together last week for the folks down at Seascape Resort.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

Welcome Baby Tristan!

I tend to keep my personal life separate from my professional life but sometimes I just can't help myself.  hehe   I am just too proud of my wife for her amazing strength yesterday as she brought our second son into the world.  I'd like to introduce baby Tristan!  Thank you to all the couples I've meet in the past week who were so understanding and were okay with the possibility of rescheduling our initial consultation.

Engagement Album Layout - Alexis & Carlos

One of my couples asked me about getting an album designed for them since they really liked their engagement photos.  Professional prints are included in my engagement session packages but they wanted something more to show off the photos.  I was floored and honored that they were so happy with the photos.  So with that said, I sat down and put together a sample layout for them to check out.  I am use to doing it for all the weddings I photograph but it was nice to put this together for them so they save the memories forever.
